Downtown Parking

In an effort to mitigate safety concerns of certain intersections within the Central Business District, based upon feedback received from local business owners, the Jonesboro Mayor & Council approved the removal of certain parking spaces along South Main Street. This removal includes six (6) parallel parking spaces starting at the intersection of Church Street and South Main Street and running north along the fronts of the businesses from the Arts Clayton Gallery to the Fig Tree Café

This closure will take effect on January 14, 2019 with necessary striping removal and signage being posted. We are encouraging business owners and their patrons to utilize the City parking lot to the rear of the buildings. This is only the first phase of a continual strategic objective to increase walkability, beautification, and pedestrian/vehicular safety within the Central Business District.

At current, our Mayor has submitted a grant formally requesting additional funding to enlarge the sidewalk area directly in front of the storefronts. The new passageway will afford additional room for sidewalk cafes, business displays, as well as a meeting place for residents to continue to improve our downtown amenities.

It is because of your support, dedication and feedback that we continue to grow and thrive as a community, united together! We are proud to serve you in any way possible.

From our family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
