#JonesboroGA Now Accepting Applications: Historic Preservation Commission
The City appointed commission assigned with upholding the standards of the H-1 Historic District, the H-2 Historic District, the Historic Residential Overlay, and the federal standards of the Secretary of the Interior, related to historic preservation, rehabilitation, and replacement of historic buildings and structures.
The Historic Preservation Commission plays a vital role in providing recommendations to the Historic Preservation Commission, the Community Development Department, and the City Council.
All members shall be residents of the city, and shall be persons who have demonstrated special interest, experience or education in history, architecture or the preservation of historic resources, and at least three members shall be appointed from among professionals in the disciplines of architecture, history, architectural history, planning, archaeology or related professions.
