Atlanta Jazz Festival May 2024

For the entire month of May there will be jazz performances in clubs, restaurants, parks, concert venues, arts centers, and MARTA stations throughout Atlanta.

The Tara Boulevard LCI Study - Join the Conversation, shape Tara Blvd's Future

As a valued member of the community, I am excited to extend a warm invitation to our upcoming workshops, where we will share the progress made by the Tara Boulevard LCI project team in creating a community-informed plan for development, transportation and mobility improvements, and safety along the Tara Boulevard Corridor.
These workshops are an essential platform for stakeholders and the public to review our project team's advancements and provide invaluable feedback as the final plan takes shape.

Beautification and Improvement Grant

The Clayton County Office of Economic Development has allocated America Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funds to the Commercial Beautification and Improvement Grant Program to assist owners of commercial property with repair, enhancement and improvement for commercial properties within Clayton County.
The Clayton County Strategic Economic Development Plan specifies a need for beautification to attract new business and investment to Clayton County.

Warming Centers

The City of Jonesboro and Clayton County has several warming centers open to the public beginning at 8am today, Tuesday, January 16th through Noon on Wednesday, January 17th at the following locations:
First Baptist Jonesboro Church – The β€œRoc” 148 Church Street, Jonesboro. 8am to 5pm. Monday thru Thursday. Friday 8am to Noon.
Cathie's House at The Chapel Jonesboro, 1565 Commercial Court, Jonesboro – 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Cathie's House is also looking for donations of blankets, coats, fruit, snacks, lunch meat etc. for those who need it.
Clayton County Parks and Recreation Centers. Business hours 8am to 9pm.
Lake Spivey Recreation Center, 2300 Walt Stephens Rd. Jonesboro.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade

 

We are making plans for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade to be held Monday, January 15th, 2024, at 12:00 noon in Historic Jonesboro.

We are inviting ALL organizations to participate in this great event by placing a float, car, truck, van, etc., in the parade.
WE ARE ENCOURAGING ALL PARTICIPANTS TO ENTER A FLOAT.
