Welcome to the official website of the City of Jonesboro. The City of Jonesboro is located just 12 miles south of Atlanta and is the County seat of Clayton County.

Council meetings  - A public Worksession is held on the 1st Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m., and the Regular Council meeting is held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00p.m. and is located at 170 South Main Street. Exceptions are made when Holiday's are the same as meeting dates, ie:  January 2nd, 2012 - the City is closed, and the meeting is moved to January 3rd, 2012.

As indicated by publication requirement issued under O.C.G.A.  13-10-91, the City of Jonesboro's Federal E.I.N. number is:  58-6000600.The City of Jonesboro participates in the E-Verify Program for Employment Verification.  The City's Company ID number is:  138302.

December 13th, 2010 the Mayor and Council adopted Ordinance 2010-005  "Permissible Hours for Outdoor Landscape Watering".  "Persons may irrigate outdoors daily for puposes of planting, growing, managing or maintaining ground cover, trees, shrubs, or other plants only between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m."  All Ordinances are available for viewing at Jonesboro City Hall.
