The City of Jonesboro Mayor and Council held a Called Meeting on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 6:00pm.  The meeting was held at 170 South Main Street , Jonesboro , Georgia 30236.   

                        Members Present:         Councilwoman Yvette McDonald

                                                            Councilwoman Donna Meadows

                                                            Councilman Wallace Norrington

Councilwoman Linda Wenz

                                                            Councilman Bobby Wiggins

                                                            Councilman Rick Yonce

                                                            Mayor Joy Day  

                        Staff Present:                City Manager Jon Walker

                                                            Public Works Director Sam Durrance  

Sanitation Services:  Discussion was held regarding Sanitation Services. The total cost for the city if billing was on tax bill would be $157,470.  Different breakdowns and options were reviewed including the cost of extra equipment and the personnel. Councilwoman Meadows made a motion to have the garbage service fees placed on the tax bill with Robertson Sanitation continuing garbage pickup and to look at different options for Sanitation Services.  Councilwoman Wenz seconded the motion.  Council members Wenz, Meadows and McDonald voted in favor of the motion. Council members Wiggins, Norrington and Yonce opposed the motion.  Mayor Day voted for the motion and the motion carried.
