CALLED COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

October 31, 2007

A Called Meeting was held at 3:00 p.m. on October 31^st, 2007 at Jonesboro City Hall  124 North Avenue Jonesboro.

Attendees:       Joy B. Day - Mayor   

                        Rick Yonce – Councilmember

                        Linda Wenz - Councilmember

                        Clarence Mann - Councilmember

                        Bobby Wiggins – Councilmember

Absent:            Roger Grider - Councilmember

Staff Present:  Janice Truhan – City Clerk

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Day.  Mayor Day stated that we had been called together to consider a resolution for the 2008 SPLOST Intergovernmental agreement. Councilmember Wiggins stated that on page two there was reference to a ‘regular’ meeting instead of a called meeting. 

The Council considered the following business:

Consider Motion to approve a Resolution which authorizes Clayton County to impose a one (1) percent County special purpose local option sales and use tax (“SPLOST”).

[Motion: Mann, 2^nd: Wenz, Vote:  Unanimous.]  Note:  the vote was made and accepted with correction mentioned by Councilmember Wiggins, in regard to the reference to a ‘regular’ meeting instead of a called meeting.

Mayor Day called for a Motion to adjourn.  [Motion: Yonce, 2^nd:  Mann, Vote: Unanimous.]
