CALLED MEETING COUNCIL MINUTES

October 24, 2007

 

 

 

The City of Jonesboro Mayor and Council held a called meeting on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 4:45 p.m. at the Jonesboro City Hall, 124 North Avenue Jonesboro, Georgia.

 

Council Present:                                  Joy Day – Mayor

Linda Wenz - Councilmember

                                                            Roger Grider - Councilmember

                                                            Rick Yonce - Councilmember

                                                            Clarence Mann - Councilmember

                                                            Bobby Wiggins - Councilmember

 

Clayton County –  Terry L. Legvold, P.E.

 

Staff Present:   Janice Truhan – City Clerk, Sandra Meyers - Finance Officer

 Joe Nettleton – Public Works Director.

 

Mayor Day called the meeting to order.

 

The Council considered the following items (1 - 2) on the Agenda:

 

Item 1 -  Discussion and consideration of millage rate – Sandra Meyers presented facts related to budget effects of zero millage rate. Mayor Day called for a motion. Councilmember Wiggins made a motion to set the rate at 1 mill. [Motion: Wiggins, 2nd: Wenz, Vote: yes – Wiggins, Wenz:  no- Grider Yonce, Mann].

 

Item 2 - Discussion and consideration of Intergovernmental Agreement for Use and Distribution of Proceeds from 2008 SPLOST Tax for Capital Outlay Projects.  Discussion of 2007 SPLOST fund status, condition of city roads and various funding source conditions.  Mayor Day asked for any action on Intergovernmental Agreement.  Motion to approve agreement. [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Wenz, Vote: Unanimous].

 

The meeting was adjourned by unanimous vote. [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Mann, vote: unanimous].
