CITY OF JONESBORO
COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
December 10, 2007
The City of Jonesboro Mayor and Council held the monthly Council meeting on Monday, December 10 2007. The meeting was held at 7:00 p.m. at the Jonesboro Police Station, 170 South Main Street Jonesboro, Georgia.

Bobby Wiggins
Billy Powell
Staff Present: Chief Wayne Rowland, Joe Nettleton, Janice Truhan, Charles Carpenter, and Donna Nettleton.
Mayor Day called the meeting to order, followed by the pledge of allegiance.
Minutes of the November 12, 2007 meeting were presented. Minutes were approved: [Motion: Wenz, 2nd: Wiggins, Vote: yea – Powell, Mann, Wenz, Wiggins, Yonce, No: Grider].
Mayor Day called for regular meeting public comments. There were none. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Wells stood and requested time to make a comment. Mayor Day allowed it. Mr. Wells comment was to tell Mayor and Council how he appreciates all the Council does. “We as citizens appreciate you.”
The Council considered the following items - A through I on the Agenda:
A. - Reading of Proclamation and award of plaque to Mayor Joy B. Day presented and read by Chairman Eldrin Bell, thanking her for 12 years of service to the residents of the City of Jonesboro and Clayton County.
B – Considered Home Based business application – Keeper of the Gate DBA Home Restorations and Additions located at 260 North Lake Drive. Approved. [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Powell, Vote: Unanimous].
C - Considered authorization of Martin Luther King Jr. parade requested for January 21, 2008. Mr. Herman Turner requested a waiver of fees as they are a non profit entity. Approved [Motion: Mann, 2nd: Yonce, Vote: Unanimous].
D - 2nd reading of amendments to Nuisance Ordinance and Environmental Ordinance.
E. - Considered Motion to move Agenda item E to F. [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Wiggins, Vote: Unanimous].
F –. Considered placing two stop signs on Lee Street North and South bound at Dixon Street. Approved. [Motion: Powell, 2nd: Yonce, Vote: yea – Grider, Powell, Mann, Wenz, Yonce; No - Wiggins].
G. - Considered moving radio from Dispatch at Clayton County to Fire Station #13. Approved. [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Powell, Vote: Unanimous].
H. - Considered motion to adopt amendments to Environmental Ordinance. Approved. [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Mann, Vote: Unanimous].
I. – Considered motion to adopt amendments to Nuisance Ordinance. Approved .
[Motion: Grider, 2nd: Mann, Vote: Unanimous].
Other Business:
Bobby Wiggins mentioned that there will be a Covered Dish Supper at the Jonesboro Firehouse Museum from 6:00 – 6:30 on December 13th, 2007.
