The mission of the Jonesboro Police Department is to maximize the quality of life of the citizens of the city we serve; To uphold the law fairly and firmly; to prevent crime; To address the problems of the citizens we serve; To pursue and bring justice to those who violate the law; To Keep peace of the city; To protect, help, and reassure all people in Jonesboro; To do All of this with integrity, common sense, and sound judgment.

The staff of the Police Department consists of the Chief of Police, law enforcement personnel, a criminal investigation detective, a code enforcement officer, school resource officer, probation officer, technology support specialist and clerical support personnel. The Chief of Police is responsible for the supervision of the department and reports to the city manager.
· Enforce all federal, state and local laws and ordinances that fall under our jurisdiction
· Conducts investigations into criminal activity
· Promotes education and deterrence through the school resource officer
· Provides probation services within the City of Jonesboro
