CITY OF JONESBORO The City of Jonesboro Mayor and Council held a Called Meeting on December 15, 2004 at 6:00pm. The meeting was held at 170 South Main Street. Members Present: Council member Yvette McDonald Council member Donna Meadows Council member Wallace Norrington Council member Linda Wenz Council member Rick Yonce Mayor Joy B. Day Staff Present: Stacey Ingles, Finance Officer Kathryn Lookofsky, Main Street Director Robert Thomas, Police Chief Jon Walker, City Manager Jimmy Wiggins, Fire Chief Mayor Day began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Executive Session: Mayor Day called for a motion to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel and legal matters. Councilman Norrington made a motion to go into Executive Session. Councilwoman McDonald seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Councilman Norrington made a motion to resume Regular Session. Councilwoman Wenz seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Regular Session was resumed. Budget Adoption: City Manager Jon Walker reviewed the proposed 2005 Budget, for a total budget of $3,456,696. Mayor Day called for a motion to approve the proposed 2005 Budget as read. Councilwoman Wenz made a motion to approve the 2005 budget as read. Councilwoman McDonald seconded. The motion carries with Councilwomen Wenz, McDonald and Meadows in support. Councilmen Norrington and Yonce opposed. Mayor Day asked for a motion to adjourn. Councilman Norrington motioned to adjourn. Councilwoman Wenz seconded. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned. ________________ _________________ Joy Day, Mayor Joan Jones, City Clerk Footnote: Mayor Day explained the Public Hearings have been held on the budget, the meeting is adjourned; however she will stay to listen to the citizens. She advised council they were free to leave. The council stayed to listen to the citizens’ concerns. |
