City of Jonesboro
The regular meeting of Mayor and Council was held December 11, 2000 with
Mayor Day and all members present as follows:
T. E. Adair, Luther Maddox, Yvette
McDonald , Wallace Norrington, Clifford Sewell
and Rick Yonce. The minutes of the November meeting were read and stand unanimously approved. Sewell moved, seconded by Norrington that the City repair Mr.Raymond Moody's driveway at 141 Ingleside Drive, which has been damaged by the city's trucks using it for turning around. The motion passed unanimously to replace 42 feet with 6 inch re-enforced concrete. As recommended by Attorney Murray Weed, Maddox moved, seconded by Sewell that a Quit Claim deed be issued upon the sale of the cemetery lot rather than the deed presently being used. The motion carried unanimously. Mayor Day reminded everyone of the Fire Station Dedication, December 17th from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and the employees breakfast on December 21st at 7:00 A.M. at the Police Station. Interim Chief Harris advised that the Police Station will be staying open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. beginning January 1st, 2001. There being no further business, McDonald moved, seconded by Yonce that the meeting be adjourned.
