On December 28, 2017 the City of Jonesboro was notified by the Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Pat Wilson, that the City has been designated as a Rural Zone.
On January 16, 2018 the City of Jonesboro will take command of bulldozer controls to deliver the first blows to the blighted structures along Broad Street in the Historic Downtown District. The demolition will initiate a kick-off of the major revitalization project planned for Broad Street.
All residents are invited to attend to offer their input on the Broad Street Project on December 12, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.. The Broad Street project will stimulate new activity in the downtown core and serve as a linchpin in the revitalization of the entire block between Broad Street and Riley Way.
